With a density of about 5000 plants per hectare, the estate is named after one of the historic masserie surrounding San Pancrazio Salentino, which was once inhabited by Basilian monks. It is located along the ancient road connecting San Pancrazio to Mesagne, dating back to the period between 1200 and 1300. Located about 500 meters from the center of San Pancrazio Salentino, it is named after an old medieval masseria. The estate mainly hosts indigenous varieties such as Primitivo and Negroamaro. The soils exhibit a varied texture, with sand, silt, and clay evenly distributed and a strong presence of limestone due to proximity to tuff quarries. On the 7 hectares of land, of which 2 are currently planted with Negroamaro, there is an old cottage between two centuries-old pines that inspired the company logo. The vines planted in this area, Malvasia Bianca and Negroamaro, are about 30 years old and are pruned using the Guyot system. The soils, with a significant clay component, influence drainage capacity and water retention.
